Miayla has been in love with jazz (and the harp) from a young age. When she heard the music of Dorothy Ashby she was inspired. At the age of 20 Miayla moved to New Orleans where she was able to learn from some of the best jazz musicians in the city and refine her sound. Miayla has a great love for melodic and improvised music and primarily plays jazz and latin jazz standards as well as her own compositions.

In London Miayla has been collaborating with the bassist Zamar-Eden (see video below).
